NEW MACEDON RANGES SPORTS PRECINT KICKING GOALS

The Allan Labor Government is making sure more sports players and clubs in Macedon Ranges can play the sport they love close to home, with the new state-of-the-art sports precinct ready for kick off. Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence joined Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas and representatives from Macedon Ranges Shire Council on Friday to officially announce the completion of Stage 1 of the new Macedon Ranges Sports Precinct, thanks to the Labor Government’s investment of $14.8 million.

OVER $1.9M TO IMPROVE AND REFURBISH KINDERGARTENS IN MACEDON

The Allan Labor Government is providing funding to upgrade and improve early learning spaces with more than 1,248 kindergartens across Victoria to share in $28 million of funding to upgrade facilities and buy equipment. Grants will be given to a total of sixteen kindergartens in the Macedon electorate including up to $750,000 for larger projects and $150,000 for smaller ones, to upgrade buildings and outdoor areas.

EXPANDING HABITATS FOR VICTORIAN ICONIC WILDLIFE

The Allan Labor Government is protecting and restoring landscapes into vibrant natural habitats for Victoria’s threatened species with more environmental projects funded through the $77 million Bushbank program. In Macedon, $1,130,750 has been allocated for the Mount Macedon Plantation Restoration Project to restore about 70 hectares of native vegetation in areas previously managed as a pine plantation on Mount Macedon.

The Trentham community now has a one-stop-shop to access the town’s services and host local events, thanks to the completion of the new community hub backed by the Allan Labor Government.Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today represented Minister for Regional Development Gayle Tierney to open The Mechanics Trentham alongside community members and representatives from all levels of government.

Not-for-profit animal care organisations are receiving crucial support to purchase or upgrade their equipment and expand their services thanks to backing from the Allan Labor Government.
