Take2 minutes to pledge for climate change action

The Macedon community is invited to Take2 minutes to pledge for Climate Change action.

Victoria is leading the nation on climate change with the Premier and Minister D’Ambrosio today announcing a target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 to be enshrined in legislation.

"Making the transition to a low carbon economy is important and requires the support of the Victorian community," said Mary-Anne Thomas This is why the Andrews Labor Government is introducing the TAKE2 climate change pledge program for all Victorians, to pledge their action to help keep the global temperature rise to under two degrees.

Victorians are invited to visit the pledge website and register their commitment to help Victoria reach net zero by 2050 at: take2.vic.gov.au The Labor government will pledge action across all its operations and for key parts of the economy. All other Victorians, including local government, business, communities, educational organisations and individuals are invited to make a pledge and commit their own actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Share the actions you are taking across your social networks and celebrate the collective actions of all Victorians on Pledge Action Day in August 2016 .

" The pledging process will give all Victorians a chance to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions as we work towards our ambitious target to protect the environment and the liveability of our communities, " Ms Thomas said.
