Macedon wins big with new netball complex

The Macedon Ranges Netball Association now has a state-of-the-art complex to call its own, thanks to a major investment from the Andrews Labor Government.

Labor Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today opened the Macedon Ranges Netball Complex, made possible by a $1.2 million investment from Labor Government.

It means the Macedon Ranges Netball Association will no longer have to share a space with Gisborne Secondary College, and won’t have to deal with a lack of space at Saturday competitions.

The new complex comes complete with eight outdoor courts, which will provide a fitting home for the 74 teams that compete in the Association. Two courts will feature 200 lux lighting, so that players can train safely in the midweek winter evenings.

A new pavilion comprising change rooms, toilets, a canteen and storage space will give players a home base they can be proud of. A raised and sheltered path network and car park are also included.

The Macedon Ranges Netball Association is already home to 620 players, and the new Complex means the league will be able to attract more members and grow.

The project was funded in partnership with the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, the Macedon Ranges Netball Association and the Commonwealth Government.
