Macedon schools supported with maintenance projects
Schools in Macedon are among more than 250 across the state to receive a boost to essential maintenance projects, thanks to the Victorian Government.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today announced six schools in Macedon were among 282 schools across Victoria to share in $12.48 million in Term 2 funding for projects under the Planned Maintenance Program (PMP).
The schools include:
Romsey Primary School has been allocated a total of $15,000. This includes $15,000 for high priority maintenance tasks identified in the school’s Specialist Assessment to address the school’s roof plumbing and structural issues.
Tylden Primary School has been allocated a total of $15,000. This includes $15,000 for high priority maintenance tasks identified in the school’s Specialist Assessment to address the school’s roof plumbing issues.
Lancefield Primary School has been allocated a total of $245,000. This includes $245,000 for high priority maintenance tasks identified in the school’s Specialist Assessment to address the school’s roof plumbing and structural issues.
Darraweit Guim Primary School has been allocated a total of $40,000. This includes $40,000 for high priority maintenance works on the school’s Shelter in Place building. These works will be delivered by the Victorian School Building Authority on behalf of the school.
Newham Primary School has been allocated a total of $10,000. This includes $10,000 for high priority maintenance tasks identified in the school’s Specialist Assessment to address the school’s structural issues.
Hepburn Primary School has been allocated a total of $5,000. This includes $5,000 for high priority maintenance tasks identified in the school’s Specialist Assessment to address the school’s roof plumbing issues.
The program ensures schools can undertake essential work to grounds and classrooms such as fixing roofs and windows, painting, resurfacing floors and replacing windows, as well as external landscaping works like pathways and lighting.
The funding is on top of $10.4 million already provided to 230 schools through Term 1 PMP allocations and ensures existing buildings at Victoria’s 1,500 state schools are safe, modern and properly maintained.
In the past seven years, the Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools and more than 1,700 school upgrades, creating around 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries.
