A local Victorian State Emergency Service member based in Gisborne has been recognised with national honours for her outstanding service to the community, receiving the Emergency Services Medal (ESM).
Ms Dianne Dale, who serves with the Gisborne Unit and Central Region was acknowledged for her dedication, professionalism and commitment to protecting the Macedon Ranges region.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas congratulates Ms Dale and thanks her for the vital role she plays in keeping local families, homes, and businesses safe.
The Emergency Services Medals are part of the Australian Honours System and recognise distinguished service by members of emergency services across the country, including those involved in training or education.
Medals are announced as part of the Australia Day and King’s Birthday Honours Lists and are awarded by the Governor-General on the recommendation of Commonwealth and State Ministers.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas also acknowledges the broader contribution of local volunteers and emergency service personnel right across the electorate, noting that the community is safer because of their commitment, courageand willingness to serve.
