Kyneton Racecourse is set to benefit from a funding boost to upgrade their equipment and boost the race day experience as part of the Allan Labor Government’s ongoing investment in country racing.
Minister for Racing Anthony Carbines today announced more than $730,000 from the Regional Customer Facilities Program to improve racing infrastructure at 18 regional racing venues.
The Kyneton Racecourse along with the Avoca Turf Club will share the use of 30 large market umbrellas, for shade and wet weather protection, worth $15,242.
Note: The Avoca Shire Turf Club and Kyneton & Hanging Rock Racing Club share the same club manager.
Thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing clubs will receive grants of up to $100,000 to deliver projects that upgrade function spaces, improve public amenities and purchase new equipment – ensuring racegoers and communities can enjoy these venues all year round.
Under the Regional Customer Facilities Program, funded through the Victorian Racing Industry Fund, regional race clubs can apply for grants to support projects that improve facilities and encourage greater community use.
The regional racing industry contributes $1.17 billion to the Victorian economy each year and supports more than 9,000 full-time equivalent jobs across the state.
