KYNETON NETBALL IS READY NET SET GO

Players at the Kyneton Tigers Football Netball Club and Kyneton Netball Association have a new home court advantage thanks to two new netball courts and pavilion at the Kyneton Showgrounds.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas joined Macedon Ranges Shire Mayor, Cr Kate Kendall and the Kyneton Football Netball Club to officially launch the new netball facilities backed by $1.5 million from the Allan Labor Government.

Netball is as popular as ever in Kyneton and the new competition courts and pavilion breathe new life into the local competition.

The two courts feature a new asphalt surface complete with 200 lux competition standard LED lighting, fencing, team shelters, accessible parking, and new pathways.

There’s also a new netball pavilion complete with female friendly change rooms, umpire rooms, a first aid room, accessible public amenities, administration room, storage space, and a covered player and spectator viewing area with seating.

The Victorian Budget 2026/27 is providing $24 million to support the development of high-quality, accessible community sports infrastructure across the state, including through the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund. It’s part of the more than $2.4 billion invested by the Victorian Government into community sport and active recreation infrastructure since 2014.

From precinct developments to pavilion upgrades, investments like these provide high-quality and accessible places for Victorians to reap the benefits of sport and active recreation participation. Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.

Mary-Anne Thomas MP acknowledged Macedon Ranges Shire Council for its almost $1.4 million financial contribution and commitment to delivering the project.
