The Allan Labor Government is helping more Victorians get involved in sport and active recreation, boosting participation opportunities across the state.
State Members for Bendigo Jacinta Allan MP and Maree Edwards MP, Member for Macedon Mary- Anne Thomas MP, and Member for Ripon Martha Haylett MP today announced that Sports Focus has been successful in receiving $600,000 through the latest round of the Labor Government’s Together More Active program.
Sports Focus supports and empowers sporting clubs to be more safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces for the broader community to enjoy sport and active recreation.
This funding is part of more than $8.1 million statewide to bring to life 58 projects. Together More Active draws on the power of sport to make a difference; helping organisations build safe, inclusive, and resilient environments that encourage participation and support volunteer skills development.
This round, the program is backing the continuation of a Disability Sport and Recreation pilot program to support and enhance the capability of sport clubs competing at the 2026 Special Olympic Australia National Games in Melbourne in 2026.
The Together More Active 2023-27 Program is part of the Labor Government’s Active Victoria strategy that sets out Victoria’s priorities for sport and active recreation that ensure even more people can tap into all the benefits that sport and active recreation delivers.
