Hepburn Community Wind Park Co-operative has been funded through the Community Electrification Engagement Program (CEEP) to run a localised energy literacy program, educating households on the benefits of replacing gas appliances with efficient electric alternatives.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas said Hepburn Community Wind Park Co-operative will use the funding to accelerate the take-up of cheaper electric energy through tailored projects that meet the unique needs of the local community.
Working with community and climate groups across 11 local government areas, Hepburn Community Wind Park Co-operative will up-skill and train local home energy champions to share learnings within the community.
The projects, to be delivered over the upcoming financial year, will also build awareness of Victorian Government incentives such as the SEC Electric Home Planner, Victorian Energy Upgrades Program and Solar Victoria rebates.
