Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Ben Carroll congratulated our hard-working teachers and support staff at the annual Recognition of Service awards, on behalf of the Allan Labor Government.
Staff were presented awards for 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 years of service to public education in Victoria.
Education veteran Helen Burgess from Mount Macedon Primary School, who is celebrating an extraordinary 45 years in education, is among 307 long-serving teachers and support staff being recognised for their outstanding contribution to Victorian education.
The celebration comes as Labor made Victorian teachers the best paid in the nation last week.
The biggest threat to schools in Victoria is Jess Wilson’s $40 billion in cuts.
She needs to come clean – will she support our teachers or cut their jobs?
