Macedon creative leaders and community members are invited to express their interest in joining the boards of some of Victoria’s most renowned creative and cultural organisations.
The Victorian Government is seeking people from across the state with a passion for the creative sector, and a diversity of backgrounds and professional experience, to join Creative Victoria’s talent pool of potential board candidates.
Candidates for future Victorian Government board appointments in the creative industries are drawn from this talent pool as vacancies arise.
This includes the boards of state-owned Victorian arts and cultural institutions, including ACMI, Arts Centre Melbourne, Geelong Arts Centre, Museums Victoria, Melbourne Recital Centre, Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation, National Gallery of Victoria, State Library Victoria and The Wheeler Centre; as well as two screen industry agencies – Docklands Studios Melbourne and VicScreen.
The Victorian Government also makes appointments to the boards of several non-government creative organisations including Victorian Opera, Heide Museum of Modern Art, RISING and the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA).
The boards of these organisations required a wide mix of skills and professional expertise, include financial management, corporate governance, strategic planning, legal, sponsorship, communications and marketing, and more.
As part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to ensuring that government boards reflect the rich diversity of the Victorian community, the EOI process welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people of all ages including young people aged 18-34 years, women, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ people, and rural and regional Victorians.
People do not need to have experience working for an arts organisation or in the creative industries to express interest.
You can nominate a particular board, or boards, that you are interested in, or you can join the pool more broadly. As vacancies arise, Creative Victoria will review the pool to consider suitable candidates for appointment.
Information about the EOI process and a position description for board roles are now available on the Victorian Government’s Join a Public Board
EOIs close at 11:59pm, 8 October 2025.
