Building a better kyneton secondary college

Students in Kyneton will soon have the first rate classrooms and facilities they deserve, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today turned the first sod to mark the start of construction on a new Training and Innovation Hub, which is part of a $10.9 million upgrade at Kyneton Secondary College.

Fairbrothers Construction has been appointed to build the new Hub, which is a key component of the Kyneton Education Precinct.

The new hub will offer students across the Macedon Ranges applied learning across a range of STEM and vocational training subjects as well provide a unique educational resource for the broader community with facilities available for hire after school hours.

In addition to the Training and Innovation Hub, the year seven and eight Learning Centre and the shared Learning Resources Centre fondly known as the "Boomerang Wing" will be totally refurbished.

The administration area, arts studio, drama and music facilities, food technology and the year nine and ten Learning Centre will receive also maintenance upgrades.

The project is part of a $2.5 billion investment by the Labor Government in the past three Budgets to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians
