The first step to transform New Gisborne Primary is underway, with works beginning on the school’s oval upgrade.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas MP, announced that work had begun on New Gisborne Primary’s new $1 million synthetic grass oval.

Easy Turf has been appointed to deliver the new oval, complete with drainage, line markings and new sports equipment.

The oval upgrade is part of New Gisborne Primary’s $3.1 million upgrade – with the remaining classroom, outdoor learning and solar panel works to go out to tender later in the year.

All upgrades at New Gisborne Primary School are expected to be complete by early 2022.

Under the Andrews Labor Government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.

The Andrews Labor Government has invested $7.2 billion to deliver more than 1,460 school upgrades, supporting over 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a quality education.

Quotes attributable to Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas MP
"This exciting oval upgrade means that New Gisborne Primary students will be able to get outside and enjoy getting active on a first-class recreation facility."

"The works at New Gisborne Primary School are part of the school building boom that’s happening right across Gisborne and the rest of the state – with upgrades over at Gisborne Primary School, Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School in Bullengarook, and the brand-new school and kindergarten to be built in the south of Gisborne."
