Macedon ranges regional sports hub

State Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, has written to the Federal Minister for Sport, the Hon Sussan Ley MP, to ensure that a promise made during the recent election campaign is delivered in full.

During the campaign the unsuccessful Liberal candidate for the seat of Bendigo, Ms Megan Purcell, announced that a re-elected Turnbull Government would contribute $100,000 towards the development of a business plan, feasibility study and design for the proposed Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Hub.

Ms Thomas said she had written to the Minister to ensure that the promise will be delivered in full as soon as possible. She also pointed out that the Hub will bring increased participation in various sports, something that, in turn, leads to better health outcomes. The Hub will also mean that Macedon will have the capacity to host regional sporting competitions.
