Kyneton tigers roar with female friendly pavilion

The Andrews Labor Government is getting on with delivering a new female-friendly pavilion at the Kyneton showgrounds, giving more eager netballers and footballers the chance to shine.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas officially opened the upgraded pavilion today at the Kyneton Showgrounds, made possible thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Labor Government’s Country Football and Netball Program.

This pavilion is home to the Kyneton Tigers Junior Football and Netball Club which has more than 230 members and have been an integral part of the Kyneton community since the club formed in 1868.

With the demand continuing to grow for female football participation, the need for modern and appropriate facilities is essential.

The new pavilion with female friendly change-rooms and amenities benefits players, coaches, umpires and supporters.

This enables the clubs to welcome more female players and give club administrators greater flexibility when scheduling training and competition.

It will also increase opportunities for the pavilion and oval to be used by other sporting, school and community groups.

The Government is strongly committed to sport and active recreation, gender equality and encouraging all Victorians to get out there and get active.

Across Victoria, we’ve invested more than $850 million in community sport and active recreation infrastructure since 2014.

The Government also acknowledged project partner Macedon Ranges Shire Council for its commitment and investment to deliver the project.
