Kicking goals for women’s sport in hepburn

The women and girls at Hepburn Football Netball Club will get better facilities thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas joined the club at their home ground at the Hepburn Recreation Reserve today to announce $100,000 from the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund will go towards new female friendly change rooms for players and officials.

The new facilities will mean the women and girls at the club and other clubs at the facility can say goodbye to outdated facilities, attract new members and grow their ranks more than ever before.

Every player deserves equal access to equal facilities – and this funding boost will open the door for more local women and girls to participate in football and netball locally.

Inspired by their Super League Netball and AFLW heroes, women and girls are joining grassroots sporting clubs in record numbers. The Hepburn Football Netball Club are no exception and currently have over 70 female players.

This funding boost is from the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund – Female Friendly Facilities category, which has already delivered almost $10 million towards $60 million worth of projects across the Victoria, helping more than 200 clubs update their ageing facilities.
