Infrastructure projects bring jobs to the macedon ranges

The Andrews Labor Government is getting on with exciting regional infrastructure projects across Victoria, with works on two important projects in the Macedon Ranges underway, boosting the economy and making the area an even better place to live, work and visit.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today represented Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes, alongside representatives from Macedon Ranges Shire Council, local businesses and community members, to view progress on the projects that are designed to create jobs and promote tourism across the region.

The Government is investing $8.75 million to develop enjoyable and safe shared-use trail links, connecting major towns in the Macedon Ranges region. The project is part of the Building Works package – a $2.7 billion commitment to get thousands of Victorians back to work with shovel-ready projects that provide lasting benefits to communities.

The project will connect Woodend, Macedon, New Gisborne and Riddells Creek via a shared use trail. The works are expected to create up to 16 jobs during construction and will provide a longer-term boost to the economy through increased tourism.

Construction has also started in Kyneton on the $6 million headquarters of global prestige brand RATIONALE Skincare. The high-end skincare brand formulates and manufactures all its products in Australia, and has markets including the USA, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. RATIONALE Skincare is building its global headquarters in Kyneton that will include research and development, manufacturing and training facilities.

This multi-million-dollar project is expected to attract 103 full-time jobs.

Plans for the new headquarters have been made possible thanks to the Regional Jobs Fund, which helps businesses create more jobs in regional Victoria, supports community projects and helps councils to deliver cultural initiatives of economic significance to the region.
