Flexiride service hits the road in woodend

A new on-demand weekday bus service has started this week to help residents and visitors in Woodend get around town easier.

As of this week FlexiRide will connect locals with the Woodend Shopping Centre, Buffalo Sports Centre, Brooke Street Medical Centre and Woodend Station.

The 18-seater bus departs from the central stop at Woodend Shopping Centre seven times each weekday between 9am – 5pm.

For the cost of a public transport fare, local residents can now be picked up at one of the 28 designated stops located around the town and travel to the stop closest to their desired destination.

The FlexiRide bus is wheelchair accessible and small enough to get around Woodend’s narrower streets.

The service, operated by Dysons Group, is paper ticketed with full and concession fares available.

Passengers using FlexiRide outside of the central stop must call 5422 1634 to request a pick-up. They will be given an estimated pick-up time at the stop.

Stop maps and timetable information is available on ptv.vic.gov.au, or by calling 1800 800 007.
