A smoother, safer journey on heathcote-kyneton road

Kyneton drivers are set to benefit from an intersection upgrade and road rebuild underway on a busy popular local road as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s massive maintenance blitz rolling out across Victoria.

Crews are already on the ground starting works on the $1 million project to increase safety and visibility at the Ennis and Redesdale Roads intersection on Heathcote-Kyneton Road.

The project will improve visibility and safety by building a traffic island, new lighting, drainage and applying fresh line marking. Crews will also rebuild a 500-metre section of road foundation to increase the strength and durability of the route.

The works follows a $3.6 million package of works that saw 6.5 kilometres rebuilt between Kyneton and Redesdale in early 2018.

Traffic management will be in place with speeds reduced to 40km/h until works are complete, when speeds will return to 100km/h. Temporary closures of Redesdale Road and Ennis Road are expected at times with signed detours.
