15 more weekly bus services for gisborne passengers

The Andrews Labor Government is helping Gisborne passengers get to school, work and wherever they need to go sooner by adding an extra 15 weekly bus services from 20 November.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today announced the extra daytime services, as well expanding coverage for people living in the growing town.

The Route 473 bus service will gain an extra three weekday services to connect people to Gisborne town centre and the train station, improving coverage to the south east by travelling further along Willowbank Road to Bloomfield Road.

Route 474 will also be extended to service Bullengarook via Gisborne Road, simplifying the network by making all on-demand services part of this route.

The altered route will provide residents in many new estates around Gisborne access to buses when they need them most.

Services on both routes are timed to connect with trains on the Bendigo line at Gisborne Station, making it easier for people to get to and from work or school in the city.

New timetables and maps will be available in late October at ptv.vic.gov.au, while passengers can also book and find out more about on-demand buses at gisbus.com.au.
