$1.25m of community infrastructure projects completed at lancefield park

$1.25M of community infrastructure projects have been completed at Lancefield Park.

The most recently completed projects include improvements to the cricket club rooms, bowls club, old tennis courts and football ovals.

Refurbishment of the cricket club rooms included upgrading the toilets, carpets, kitchen facilities and air conditioning.

A new outdoor BBQ area and security fencing was constructed at the bowls club.

The old asphalt tennis courts have been resurfaced and converted into multi-use plexipave netball and tennis courts. Line marking will take place when the weather improves.

Upgrades have been made to the main oval including levelling and re-sowing the playing surface and improving drainage. Irrigation has been improved at the western oval so it can be used for training year-round.

In 2017, a new skate park, bmx track plus tennis and netball change rooms were completed at Lancefield Park.

In 2016, new playground equipment was installed at Lancefield Park and a new tractor purchased to maintain the Park.

The Victorian Government funded $1.5M of projects to help the Lancefield community recover from the 2015 Lancefield-Cobaw fires.

As well as $1.25M of improvements at Lancefield Park, $150,000 funding was used to upgrade the toilets at the Lancefield Mechanics Institute and $100,000 was allocated to upgrade the Benloch Fire Station meeting room.
