Works underway to transform gisborne primary school

Families in Gisborne will soon have access to amazing new facilities, with work underway to upgrade Gisborne Primary School.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas MP, today visited the construction site of Gisborne Primary’s $10 million upgrade.

The upgrade will see a brand-new competition-grade gymnasium and administration building, as well as the refurbishment of learning areas and playground facilities.

Works are expected to be completed by mid-2021.

The Labor Government is building the Education State right here in Gisborne – with upgrades currently taking place at New Gisborne Primary School, Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School in Bullengarook, and St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School.

A brand-new school and kindergarten will also be built in the south of Gisborne, set to open in 2022.

Under the Andrews Labor Government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.

The Andrews Labor Government has invested $7.2 billion to deliver more than 1,460 school upgrades, supporting over 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.
