Works begin on kyneton station car park upgrade

The Andrews Labor Government is building more car parks at Kyneton Station, to make it quicker and easier for people to drive to the station and catch the train.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas announced today that construction has begun on the major expansion of the car park, which will add 100 parking spaces.

The upgrade will also install new lighting, line markings, CCTV and signage to make the car park safer and easier to use.

The works are part of the Labor Government’s $20 million Station Car Park Upgrades Program, which will deliver more than 2,100 extra parking spaces at regional and metropolitan train stations where they are needed most.

It comes as the Labor Government will deliver 18 extra weekly services for the Bendigo line, beginning in August with the next scheduled timetable change.

It takes the total number of weekly services added to the Bendigo line in 2017 to 38.

Works on the carpark are expected to be complete by November 2017. For more information, please visit www.victrack.com.au/carparkupgrades.
