Trentham community to have say on local public transport

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas is urging the Trentham community to have their say on local transport needs at an upcoming forum hosted by Transport for Victoria.

The move comes on the back of a campaign run by Trentham local William Morris, who has been campaigning for more services between Trentham, Kyneton and Woodend.

Earlier today, Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas and William Morris met in Trentham ahead of next week’s forum.

The Government is keen to hear from locals about their ideas to improve local transport services. This could include traditional train and coach services or better use of neighbourhood buses, local taxis, hire cars and other innovative forms of community transport.

Local transport forums are a key part of the Andrews Labor Government’s Regional Network Development Plan – Victoria’s first long-term strategy for better regional public transport.

Next week’s forum will be used to identify local transport needs and potential solutions to guide government investment in Hepburn public transport.

Other forums have resulted in local transport improvements for passengers, including a government-funded community transport pilot in the Wimmera Southern Mallee.

The forum will take place on Wednesday 21 February at the Trentham Neighbourhood Centre, High St, Trentham, from 7:00pm.
