Speed limit change for malmsbury-daylesford road

Locals and tourists travelling through the Macedon Ranges and Hepburn regions will have a safer journey thanks to a speed limit change along on Malmsbury-Daylesford Road.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, said the Andrews Labor Government had listened to locals by implementing a speed limit reduction between Denver and Glenlyon – from 100km/hour to 80km/hour.

Reducing the speed limit will help improve safety for motorists, as the road can be hazardous due to roadside vegetation and wildlife. The change has already come into effect, with new speed limit signs installed.

Local community members have welcomed the change after advocating to lower the speed limit on the stretch of road.

The important road connects Daylesford in the Hepburn Shire with Malmsbury and Kyneton in the Macedon Ranges Shire and is relied on by locals and tourists to travel through the area.
