NINE MACEDON CLUBS SCORE SPORT GRANTS

Nine grassroots sport and active recreation organisations in Macedon are set to bolster their coaching skills, administration expertise, or score new sports equipment thanks to a share in$12,000 from the Victorian Government.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today announced the successful applicants from Macedon of the latest round of the Victorian Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.

The grants provide clubs up to $1,000 for new uniforms and equipment, up to $2,000 for training coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve club operational effectiveness.

Local recipients include:

  • Holy Cross United Netball Club Inc New balls and whistles
  • Kyneton Football Netball Club Incorporated Women’s football equipment
  • Trentham Adult Riding Club Inc Defibrillator for Trentham ARC
  • Woodend Hesket Masters Football Club Footballs for training and matches
  • Working Equitation Lancefield Districts New Working Equitation Obstacle-Gate
  • Gisborne Giants Football Netball Club Committee Education Program
  • Kyneton District Tennis Club Boosting volunteer engagement
  • Macedon Ranges Tennis Association Volunteers and Structure Workshop
  • Woodend Hesket Football Netball Club Development of club strategic plan

The Program is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to make community sport more accessible and inclusive, stimulate local economies, build sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities, and increase local participation.Since 2015, the Sporting Club Grants Program has invested more than $15.5 million to support clubs and their volunteers across the state, in positive and trying times.
