New flags for bolinda primary school

Local Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas presented the students at Bolinda Primary School with a new Victoria State and Aboriginal Flag at a school assembly in November. Federal Member for McEwen Rob Mitchell also provided the Australian national flag in response to a letter from the senior students.

In the letter the students say "We are very proud to be Australian and we are very respectful. Currently our school flags are weathered and faded and are not in a pretty state."

Bolinda Primary School also recently received $15,000 in Schools Maintenance funding. Principal Stuart Telford said that he planned to use the funds to complete the original school building, which is currently the Junior classroom.

The Andrews Labor Government is committed to making Victoria the Education state, with 501 schools sharing in a record investment of $52.4 million in school maintenance this year.

Quotes attributable to Mary-Anne Thomas, State Member for Macedon
"It’s great to see children engaged with the ritual of flag-raising, and taking pride in the care and maintenance of their school resources."

"The maintenance funding boost for Bolinda Primary School will allow for an upgrade into one of the schools main building, so that our teachers and students have the first-rate facilities they deserve."
