Melbourne vixen to join kyneton this girl can! netball session

Melbourne Vixen Wing netballer, Khao Watts, will join local women at a free open netball session at the Kyneton Toyota Sports and Aquatic Centre on Tuesday 21st August.

Watts, who will retire from professional netball at the end of this season, won a Trans-Tasman Netball League Premiership with Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in 2012, before going on to play seven National Netball League seasons with the West Coast Fever, Adelaide Thunderbirds and Melbourne Vixens.

In partnership with VicHealth, the Kyneton Football Netball Club and the Gisborne Football Netball Club, Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, is inviting local women to get active by providing sponsorship to the clubs to enable them to host these open netball sessions.

The session with Khao Watts is one of two taking place in Kyneton, with another two sessions set to be hosted by the Gisborne Football Netball Club at Gisborne Secondary College, with those dates still be to announced.

The Kyneton Football Netball Club will host two sessions at the Kyneton Toyota Sports and Aquatic Centre:

Tuesday 21st August 5pm to 7pm – Skills session Sunday 26th August 12pm to 2pm – Social round robin This is all part of VicHealth’s powerful This Girl Can – Victoria campaign.

The This Girl Can – Victoria campaign is a local version of the world-renowned campaign by Sport England which inspired an incredible 3.9 million English women to get active.

This Girl Can – Victoria aims to build upon this success and empower women across the state to get active and overcome feelings of judgement, fear and embarrassment which are stopping them from getting active.
