KYNETON’S NEW HEALTH HUB ANOTHER STEP CLOSER

More Kyneton families will be able to access their vital community health and family services under the one roof thanks to record local investment by the Andrews Labor Government.

Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today inspected construction on Cobaw Health’s Healthy Community Access Hub, which was made possible thanks to $10 million from the Labor Government’s flagship Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF).

The ‘one stop shop’ will bring together primary health and community health services, private practitioners and counsellors under the one roof. The bigger, better and safer facilities mean Cobaw Community Health Services will be able to cater for growing demand.

Cobaw’s new Healthy Community Access Hub will feature the latest advances in e-health technology, making it easier for patients to create or change bookings.

The Labor Government is supporting rural and regional health and aged care services to expand, improve safety, quality and efficiency, and better care for patients, no matter where they live.

This year’s boost takes the fund’s total to $350 million, helping deliver vital upgrades for rural and regional health and aged care services to ensure all Victorians can access the world-class care they need.

Over the past three years, the RHIF has funded 284 projects across regional Victoria, creating more than 430 construction jobs along the way.

Health services are encouraged to apply for grants for construction and refurbishment projects, technology upgrades, and state-of-the-art medical and engineering equipment.

The Labor Government is also getting on with delivering a massive $3.8 billion pipeline of hospital projects to ensure patients get the very best care, when they need it most.

Rural and regional hospitals, health services and agencies can make submissions at dhhs.smartygrants.com.au/RHIFR4 from 9am, November 1 2019.
