Kyneton primary school relocation set for march

Construction of the new Kyneton Primary School is expected to be completed in late February 2018, paving the way for the much-anticipated relocation of the campus in mid-March 2018.

The Member of Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, inspected the school grounds on Tuesday morning, alongside school Principal Alistair Rayner and Lloyd Group Contractor Luke Edmondson.

This $11.5 million project is part of a $22 million investment in the Kyneton community. Rebuilding this school next to Kyneton Secondary College is the first stage in creating the Kyneton Education Precinct, which will unite all Kyneton’s schools and learning centres in one area.

Children will be able to start and finish their education within the precinct and will transition from primary school to the secondary school. The Training and Innovation Hub will also offer opportunities beyond school.

At the new Kyneton Primary, the students will have modern, state-of-the-art facilities. Every space in the school is a potential learning space, so the outdoor environments are just as important as the classrooms. The school has both flexible learning areas and specialised areas for physical education, music and art.

This project is a part of the Andrews Labor Government’s investment in our schools to make Victoria the "Education State", a state where every child has access to a great education.

This investment will ensure the high-quality teaching in our government schools will be matched by a learning environment where students are engaged, stimulated and encouraged to be creative thinkers.
