Improving safety for locals and tourists in daylesford

The Andrews Labor Government has delivered a major boost to safety and traffic flow in Daylesford, with work complete on a new roundabout at the intersection of the Midland Highway, Trentham Road and East Street.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas visited the intersection today, where the new roundabout will ensure drivers are travelling at safer speeds.

By improving the road layout, the intersection will now be easier to navigate for the 2,600 drivers that use the road every day, including growing numbers of visitors as the region’s popularity continues to grow.

Visibility has also been improved with the installation of better and brighter street lighting.

The new roundabout provides a critical safety upgrade for the intersection, which has seen five serious crashes resulting in ten injuries in the last five years.
