Funds flow for granite hills wines

The Victorian Government has announced a grant of $7,775 from the Wine Growth Fund for Granite Hills Wines, so it can develop its export growth into Asia.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, today visited Source Dining in Kyneton to announce the grant.

The Baynton-based, family-owned Granite Hills Wines will use the grant to develop its Hong Kong export market, attend VinExpo Hong Kong 2018 and participate in the 2018 Wine Australia China Roadshow.

The Victorian Government has committed $1.185 million through the Wine Growth Fund (Round Two) to develop and grow the wine industry in Victoria and to support the industry to be viable and sustainable.

The other Macedon Ranges wineries and collectives that have received funding from Wine Growth Fund (Round Two) are Guildford Vineyard and Cellar, Hunter-Gatherer Vintners, Macedon Ranges Vignerons Association, Passing Clouds Vineyard, Sandy Farm Winery and Wilimee.

Victoria’s wine industry contributes $7.6 billion to the state economy and directly employs nearly 13,000 people, many of which are in regional Victoria.

There are more cellar door outlets in Victoria than any other state, creating opportunities for visitors to enjoy diverse and quality wine experiences and contribute to the liveability and vibrancy of our regions.

The Wine Growth Fund is part of the Government’s commitment to boost the wine industry, which also includes the Wine Industry Development Strategy and the formation of the Wine Industry Ministerial Advisory Committee.

The Wine Growth Fund supports wine businesses to innovate and grow in a range of areas aligned to the industry’s strategic direction, and the Wine Strategy.
