Funding boost for local landcare group

Local environment groups have received more than $15,000 in funding as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s $1.93 million Landcare Grants program.

Funding is distributed through the North Central Catchment Management Authority, which supports local Landcare groups carry out environmental projects to improve regional waterway and land health.

Tylden Landcare received $8635 for "Who"s living on our land?’ – a project that will build capacity for locals to reconnect with the Coliban River.

Glenlyon Upper Loddon Landcare Group received $5775 to repair and enhance the biolink walking trail.

Elphinstone Land Management Association received $2229 for additional works on the Elphinstone Arboretum.

In addition, 48 community-based environment groups will each receive $500 for group maintenance and support. Mary-Anne Thomas said "The Victorian Landcare program is an investment in our future and it’s fantastic to see these local groups receiving grants to support their important environmental projects."
