Fun new playspace for taradale families

A new adventure playspace at the picturesque Taradale Mineral Springs Reserve is the ideal spot for children and families to meet, exercise and embrace the outdoors.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today officially opened the redevelopment of the playspace in Taradale.

The Andrews Labor Government is giving communities all over Victoria the safe, modern sport and recreation facilities they deserve, so that more Victorians of all ages can enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

The playspace comes complete with a double flying fox, triple bay swing, basket swing, spring rocker and a cubby area for creative play.

Rubber softfall matting, seating, picnic tables, shelter and pathways have been installed to improve year-round safety and comfort.

It is a wonderful addition to the idyllic reserve where locals and visitors can explore the peaceful surrounds and enjoy the popular mineral springs.

Playspaces can be enjoyed by the whole family and are an important in developing balance, coordination and strength in children, as well as a great place to meet new people, get active, and connect with friends.

The Victorian Government provided nearly $87,000 to the project, which was funded in partnership with the Mount Alexander Shire Council.

The Labor Government’s $100 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is upgrading grassroots facilities across the state for all Victorians, helping clubs rejuvenate tired old grounds and ageing clubrooms.
