Extra daylesford and woodend coaches start this month

Daylesford and Woodend passengers will enjoy a more frequent coach service from April 1, with 24 additional trips per week between the two towns added to the timetable.

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas said the extra V/Line services would provide better connections for people travelling to Melbourne by train via Woodend, while also making it easier to get to key tourist attractions in and around Daylesford.

The new timetable increases the total number of trips between the two locations from 26 to 50 per week – doubling services from four to eight each weekday and running four extra services over the weekend.

The services will be welcomed by Daylesford and Trentham residents who commute to work in Melbourne, as there will be an earlier, more frequent and better connecting coach service to Woodend station.

For example, on weekdays, the first coach service will leave Daylesford at 6.25am – instead of 7.35am – so that passengers can reach Woodend station in time to catch the 7.19am train to Melbourne.

There will also be an extra trip from Daylesford at 2.15pm and an extra trip from Woodend at 4.30pm on both Saturdays and Sundays.
