Daylesford students start 2018 with new facilities

Students in Daylesford can now enjoy new and refurbished facilities they can be proud of, thanks to the Victorian Government.

The Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today visited Daylesford Secondary College to open stage one of its $10.1 million upgrade, which includes a new music room and new science technology building.

Stage two of the project will include asbestos removal, a refurbishment to its technology block, construction of a new resources and learning centre and refurbishment works to the VCE centre, expected to be completed in November 2018.

The third and final stage will include landscaping works and a car park upgrade, which are also expected to be completed in November 2018.

The upgraded school will cater to over 450 local students.

Daylesford Secondary College is part of a $2.5 billion investment by the Government to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across Victoria.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1,200 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.

The Victorian Government is building the Education State, so that every Victorian student gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.
