Boosting safety and reliability for macedon ranges roads

More local roads, bridges and intersections will be upgraded across regional and rural Victoria as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s Fixing Country Roads Program, meaning safer and more reliable journeys for drivers.

Macedon Ranges Shire Council has secured close to $1.1 million of the $70 million in second round funding for additional road upgrades.

The many people visiting Malmsbury and Lauriston Reservoirs for picnics, bird watching and fishing will have a smoother journey with strengthening and widening works planned for Lauriston and Lauriston-Reservoir Roads.

Projects rolling out across the region will build safer and stronger roads for locals, commuters and farmers relying on Kyneton-Metcalfe Road near Kyneton and Station Street in Clarkefield.

These upgrades come on top of projects funded by the Labor Government in round one of the program, including reconstruction roadworks projects on sections of Kyneton-Metcalfe Road and Romsey Road, surface improvement works on Aitken and Robertson Streets in Gisborne and Main Street in Romsey.

Round one projects are on track for completion by mid-2019, while round two projects must be delivered by June 30, 2020.
