Another year of delivering for macedon

Like we have done for the last five years, the Andrews Labor Government has been keeping its promises and delivering for Macedon since it was re-elected 365 days ago.

Sunday 24 November marks one year since the last state election, when Victorians overwhelmingly voted for the Labor Government’s positive plan for a stronger, fairer Victoria.

Since then, we’ve been getting on with the policies and projects we promised for the Macedon Ranges.

We promised to get on with delivering great local schools, and we’re doing just that, with planning underway for upgrades to Gisborne Primary School, New Gisborne Primary School, Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School in Bullengarook and the brand new primary school to the south of Gisborne, set to open its doors in 2022.

On top of our unprecedented $5.6 billion investment in new and upgraded schools, we’re also getting on with the largest ever maintenance blitz across every single one of Victoria’s 1,500 government schools, with all government schools in Macedon sharing in $2.58 million of funding.

Early childhood learning can help shape a child’s entire future. That’s why we’re preparing for the biggest-ever reform of early childhood education with the introduction of Three-Year-Old Kinder, starting right here in regional Victoria.

We’re also building better kinders and training new kinder teachers, ensuring our youngest Victorians are ready for school – and set for life. Planning has already begun on upgrades to Hepburn, Trentham and Woodend kindergartens.

Country roads are the backbone of regional Victoria – they connect communities to work, study and to each other. We’ve been fixing country roads, from Trentham to Clarkefield, creating safer crossings for pedestrians in Romsey and Riddells Creek, and upgrading Melbourne-Lancefield Road, one of Victoria’s highest-risk stretches of highway.

We’ve also increased bus services in Kyneton, Romsey and Lancefield, making it easier for locals to get where they need to go.

But we know our work doesn’t end there. This is the pace that must define our next three years and we won’t stop – Victoria’s future is relying on it.

"From building and upgrading locals schools and health services, to upgrading to sport facilities and kindergartens, to delivering the road projects and bus services that locals need, we’re investing in the things that matter for people in our communities."
