Andrews labor government funds new floor for blackwood hall

Labor Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today announced the Blackwood Reserves Committee of Management will receive $15,000 funding to assist with replacing the Blackwood Hall floor.

The grant will be provided through the government’s Public Safety on Public Land program, which assists Committees of Management’s make public facilities the best they can be for the use and enjoyment of local communities.

"I’m pleased that the Government has been able to respond to the committee’s request for funding to ensure the hall can continue to be frequently used by the local community," Ms Thomas said.

"A number of community groups use the hall weekly, including our senior citizens group so it’s important that we are able to ensure it remains a vibrant hub of activity."

The Andrews Labor Government’s public safety grants program enables the Victorian Government, to help committees tackle issues of risk on Crown land reserves.

"I’d like to recognise the work of the Blackwood Reserves Volunteer Committee of Management especially in ensuring that the hall’s floors are replaced to guarantee future use by the community" Ms Thomas said.
