Andrews government kicks in for daylesford skate park redevelopment

The Daylesford Skate Park will soon undergo an upgrade thanks to a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, today announced that the Daylesford Skate Park was the latest recipient in the new round of the Labor Government’s $180 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.

The Hepburn Shire Council will use the $240,000 grant to redevelop the community skate park, incorporating new features to the park and a basketball ring area.

These upgrades will leverage significant participation and programming outcomes and fill a gap in the provision of facility in an isolated town with participation opportunities previously limited to organised and traditional sport.

Victorian sports clubs are the lifeblood of our communities and they deserve modern, accessible and safe facilities – the Labor Government is delivering those facilities through its Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.

The fund is developing new sport and active recreation facilities and rejuvenating tired grounds and ageing clubrooms across the state.

In this round of the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, over 90 projects will be supported across Victoria thanks to a $60 million boost from the Victorian Budget 2018/19.

It’s part of our commitment to promoting sports and active recreation and encouraging all Victorians to get out there and get active.

Across Victoria we’ve already invested $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities and added a more than half a billion dollars in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 to support sport across all levels.
