MACEDON YOUTH COUNCIL

Do you consider yourself a leader? Are you passionate about the issues facing young people today? Would you like to know how government works and decisions get made? If this is you, please read on! Last year I was thrilled to convene the inaugural Youth Council with a group of young dynamic people who love where they live and have visions for its future! It was my privilege to work with a vibrant and diverse Council and I'm excited to be running the program again in 2020. The aims of the Youth Council are to provide a platform for the perspectives and priorities of young people across Macedon, to empower young people to take action, show leadership and learn about government and its processes. I want to hear from young people across the Macedon electorate about what matters to you.  Mary-Anne Thomas MP Who is it for? The Youth Council is for passionate and community-minded young people from across the Macedon electorate. Applicants should be between the ages of 16 – 22 inclusive and be committed to attending all sessions. What is the commitment? The Youth Council will meet five times over a year at various locations including at the Victorian Parliament. Why apply for the Youth Council? The Youth Council will bring together young people who are interested in taking a leadership role within our community. This unique program will provide participants with the opportunity to build their understanding of government and how decisions get made and the role and responsibilities of a Member of Parliament. Apply for the Youth Council below (it only takes a few minutes) Applications close at midnight Sunday March 29 (function() { var qs,js,q,s,d=document, gi=d.getElementById, ce=d.createElement, gt=d.getElementsByTagName, id="typef_orm", b="https://embed.typeform.com/"; if(!gi.call(d,id)) { js=ce.call(d,"script"); js.id=id; js.src=b+"embed.js"; q=gt.call(d,"script")[0]; q.parentNode.insertBefore(js,q) } })() powered by Typeform   For more information or any other questions, email bella.manson@parliament.vic.gov.au

Speed Reduction for a safer Toolern Vale

The Toolern Vale community is calling for a speed reduction on Diggers Rest-Coimadai Road. The road runs through the centre of the town with the school, general store and homes one on side, and the recreation reserve, an important community meeting place on the opposite side. The current speed limit of 80kms per hour does not allow families to cross the road from one side of the township to the other safely. Sign the petition to say that our community wants a speed reduction and road treatment to make it safe for pedestrians to cross Diggers Rest-Coimadai Rd.

Fair funding for the Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Precinct

The Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Precinct is an ambitious, community-initiated project that will deliver the indoor and outdoor sporting and recreational facilities our kids need now and into the future. The Andrews Labor Government is committed to this project and that's why we have delivered $11.6 million towards making the Precinct a reality. Macedon Ranges Shire Council are leading the development of the Precinct and have a planned contribution of $10 million. This project will only be delivered with all three levels of government paying their fair share. Sign our petition and tell Prime Minister Scott Morrison that we need $10 million from the federal government to make the Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Precinct a reality.
